Dust off your barricades, break open a fresh pack of bubblegum, and put some ammo into Shelia because the Apex Legends Evolution Collection Event is here. Revolving around Rampart’s town takeover, this event will introduce a number of balance changes, a new Point of Interest in World’s Edge, and a ton of cosmetics for players to purchase. For those looking to save some money, there is a free event tracker that will dish out a handful of rewards for those playing during Evolution. However, you will need to obtain some points if you want to nab the awesome new Wingman and Triple Take skins.
How to Get Evolution Event Points
You can earn points during the Evolution event by completing the Daily Challenges found in the Challenge Menu. These will update every day with new tasks for you to complete and they are, mostly, pretty simple. This can include getting into the Top 10 four times, dealing damage, or just playing the game itself. Every challenge you complete will earn you 200 Points, for a total of 600 Points per day if you finish every challenge offered. However, the damage point challenge has different levels so it is possible to squeak out some extra Points early on. If you complete every challenge, including the additional ones, you can obtain 1,600 Points a day. To earn everything you’ll need a maximum of 5,000 Points, meaning you’ll need to finish 25 of these challenges (not including the additional damage ones) to earn everything this season.
Keep in mind, you cannot earn points by getting kills, winning games, or completing battle pass challenges. The only way to earn points is by finishing the Genesis challenges, so make sure to prioritize these every day when you log on. Other cosmetics in the store, including Rampart’s heirloom, cannot be obtained without spending real money. So unless you have some cash to burn, these are the only items you can earn for free.
For the unfamiliar, the Evolution event revolves around Rampart and her town takeover in World’s Edge. Located near Lava City, Big Maude is a massive tank where players can trade in resources for fully modded weapons. It’s a unique idea, similar to the care packages found during the Fight Night event. Respawn Entertainment has also teased that there will be a bunch of hidden lore items for players to find around the tank. In addition to her shop, Rampart is also receiving a buff to her ultimate. She can now walk around with Shelia and freely use it against her foes while remaining mobile. The catch is she will only have a single clip of ammo, but Rampart can mount it on the stand to get more bullets.
In addition to this buff, Octane is receiving a slight nerf to his health regeneration and Revenant’s totem will cause a small pulse wave to release similar to Loba’s blackmarket. The L-Star is also getting rebalanced so it’s not an absolute menance, along with some tweaks to the bow and Shatter Caps Hop-Up. All of these changes are now live, so consider giving Rampart a try to see her new ultimate in action!
