Have you ever wanted to betray your friends and make them question their trust in you for weeks? If you answered “Yes,” then developer InnerSloth’s Among Us is the game for you. This multiplayer game tasks players with repairing a futuristic base as 1-2 fake crewmates attempt to systematically murder the opposing users. While the game exploded in popularity last year, players have been eager to get their hands on the new map, Airship. Teased months ago, InnerSloth have finally released this new level and it’s got a whole host of devious new tricks that players will need to master.
One of the keys to surviving Among Us is a core understanding of the three different maps. Each one comes with its own mini-games and challenges that you’ll need to understand as both the crewmate or imposter. Here’s a breakdown of the Airship map.
While Polus was originally the biggest map in Among Us, Airship easily dwarves it in size. Boasting well over a dozen named rooms (and several unnamed), this map is perfect for large parties of players. Unlike other maps, Airship offers multiple stories which can be traversed via ladders and a floating platform in the Gap Room. While it may seem as if the Imposters have a huge advantage on this level, Crewmates have a few tricks up their sleeve. One of these is the computer terminal in Security, which lets you watch a variety of different rooms and anyone inside it. This makes it very easy to catch someone in the act if they aren’t careful. Additionally, the Cockpit has a display in the top left corner that shows a yellow map along with the location of everyone who’s still alive.
As for the vents, there are four clumps that players can use to bounce around the level. The longest is from Vault to the Viewing Deck which allows you to swiftly move from one side to the other. If you do get caught, the Emergency Meeting button can be found in the Meeting Room, which is at the most northern part of the map. Again, this map isn’t ideal for small groups due to the absolute size of the Airship. However, if you are looking for a new way to kill your friends, this is a great addition to the game’s map roster.
One area you’ll want to master is Electrical. It’s a dark maze where you can easily find yourself trapped. This can be a huge benefit to Imposters trying to escape or isolate someone who is new to the map. Alternatively, Crewmates should try to avoid this area as much as they can. Ultimately, it’s safer to just head through Showers or the Lounge. Also, you’ll not that both Security and the Viewing Deck give you access to the outside of the ship. There are no escape areas there, so try to avoid killing anyone around this area. It’s very easy to find yourself cornered by a wandering Crewmate.
Airship is now live for all players, so make sure to gather your friends and start exploring this massive flying fortress!
