Hey! Where Is Our Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Review?

The tension is so thick you could cut it with a laser sword.

We won’t have a review up for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in time for release. Sorry! We simply didn’t receive code in time to have a review ready on launch day. In addition, the publisher has chosen not to do its usual song and dance with an early EA Access trial — citing concerns over spoilers. There is just no good way for us to play the game in time for a review that will help you decide whether or not to play the game on day one.

Other major sites have gotten codes ahead of time. They’ve said as much on podcasts and videos and the like. So you can very likely find reviews on launch day, regardless, and probably will. We’re still going to shoot to have a review up on the site ASAP, but we’re not typically a review-centric site anyway. We pride ourselves on fun and insightful post-release coverage with a heaping helping of guides designed to let you get the most out of your games.

Why even do a review at that point? Honestly, it’s mostly because I like to have a big, shiny nugget of opinion we can point to on the site — either to agree or disagree with. It’s something we can shuffle people towards on our podcast (Fanwidth). You can bet your ass we’ll talk about the game on there at some point. We can also link to a Fallen order review in future written coverage. I’m talking about our silly and often very useful Trending pieces that go into our thoughts on games well after they launch.

And hey! A review, however late, might also help push one or two people off the fence about buying the game or not. That’s not usually the way of things in games criticism, these days, but you never know.

What I can say right now is that I expect to like Jedi: Fallen Order. We here at Fanbyte have a track record of enjoying Respawn Entertainment games. Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends are real bangers. This is a departure for the studio, what with being a third-person action-adventure game, but I have hope. You might even call it a new hope.

Or the game might suck… Again, it’s tough to tell when we don’t have the a copy to play ahead of time! Check back later for more deep, wonderful insight like this. We’ll have it for you… eventually.

In the meantime, check out the rest of our wonderful site! Besides our short Trending pieces, we also have a massive number of more in-depth Features to explore. And despite not being a terribly review focused site, we do still have a number of really good ones. Feel free to browse those for some fantastic games criticism in its own right. Whatever you decide, take care!
