Star Wars: Republic Commando Comes to PS4 and Switch This April

It won't include Gina Carrano, that one's Republican Commando.

Aspyr, the developer behind a spat of recent Star Wars ports and the recently-announced Stubbs the Zombie port, has announced that they are bringing the 2005 Xbox/PC game Star Wars: Republic Commando to PlayStation 4 and Switch on Apr. 6.

The tactical first-person shooter was a favorite of Star Wars gamers in the mid-2000s, but the limited console availability combined with the impending release of the Xbox 360 relegated Republic Commando to the bin of unnoticed titles. Aspyr, which was recently purchased by THQ Nordic parent company The Embracer Group, posted an entry on the PlayStation Blog describing the game and mentioning small improvements like modern controls and trophies.

With Aspyr being so aggressive about bringing back old Star Wars games, likely at the behest of the newly-labeled Lucasfilm Games, I suppose it’s only a matter of time for titles like Rogue Leader to eventually get their chance to shine in HD.
