During today’s Nintendo Direct, the publisher revealed a new 2D Metroid game from MercurySteam titled Metroid Dread.
The title Metroid Dread references an old E3 leak in a magazine that listed a game titled Metroid Dread for the Nintendo DS. The Wii game Metroid Prime 3 even makes a joke about the title within its logs.
The Switch title is a 2D-locked perspective and will release on October 8 with two amiibo of Samus and one of the robot enemies shown in the trailer.
