Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope Leaked from Official Listing

The sequel to the 2017 strategy-shooter was likely supposed to be unveiled at Ubisoft Forward.

Ahead of today’s Ubisoft Forward event, Nintendo has accidentally leaked revealed Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope for the Switch, a sequel to their 2017 collaboration with Ubisoft. The new game brings back the classic turn-based strategy battles from the original, but with a new setting, story, and characters in the same vein as the Mario-based Rabbids from the original.

The game was posted on Nintendo’s browser-based product page for hours earlier this morning, complete with multiple screenshots and a description. The accompanying text referred to “adorable Sparks,” which seem to be Rabbid versions of Lumas with different elemental powers. A Rabbid Rosalina is shown in the key art, which also includes Bowser and what looks to be a new character in Rabbid form or just some artistic license taken on a Rabbid Bowser.

The listing pegged the game as a 2022 release and was very likely meant to be revealed at Ubisoft Forward today.
