Loki Trailer Shows the Antihero Paying for His Crimes With Time-Saving Community Service

The show will follow the version of the character seen in Endgame.

While Thor’s brother Loki was among the first characters to eat it during Thanos’ reign of terror in Avengers: Infinity War, the frost giant turned Asgardian prince got a second chance at a different outcome in Avengers: Endgame thanks to some time travel antics. And that second chance comes in the form of his own Disney+ series, which we finally have gotten an extended look at with this new trailer.

The premise of the show is that the Time-Keepers, an organization meant to keep the timeline in check, took notice of Loki’s escape in Endgame as an anomaly that altered things in the timeline (much of the movie’s time travel setup used some very specific meddling and repairing to ensure the timeline was kept intact), and thus captured Loki and are requesting his help in sorting shit out.

More Marvel:

The series will begin airing on Disney+ on June 11 and will run with six episodes. Which is the same number as the ongoing Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but fewer than WandaVision, which lasted for nine episodes. WandaVision leaves its titular heroes in a different place, ready for Wanda’s appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which is set to come to theaters on March 25 of next year. While Loki actor Tom Hiddleston has yet to be confirmed for an appearance in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, it would be surprising if this show doesn’t also set him up for future appearances in the movies.

Since Loki is a shapeshifter, he’ll be taking on different forms throughout the show, including a female variant, which will be played by Yesterday actor Sophia Di Martino.
