We now have our first look at Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (the movie — not the 1992 video game), thanks to a world premiere trailer at this year’s Game Awards.
Today’s forecast calls for a 100% chance of adventure. Check out the new trailer for #SonicMovie2 and see it only in theatres April 8, 2022. pic.twitter.com/1DlfvwHdsF

The footage shows the live-action iterations of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles all meeting for the first time. Returning actors included Ben Schwartz as Sonic and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails (the only actor from the video games to reprise their role in the film), with Idris Elba making his debut as Knuckles in the movie. As for live-action characters, Jim Carrey returns as Doctor Eggman, and James Masden and Tika Sumpter are back as Sonic’s human friends and caretakers Tom and Maddie Wachowski. The movie is set to launch in theaters on April 8 of next year.
