So you’ve ranked up in your Grand Company and put your heart into farming a ton of Seals. What do you spend them on now? We’re here to help you out with some of the best ways to spend your Company Seals. If you want to know more about the overall system, check out our Grand Company and Company Seals guide.
What Do I Buy With Grand Company Seals?
There’s a wide variety of options, but we’re going to focus on the most worthy. You can buy all these items at your respective Company Quartermasters, found here:
- Storm Quartermaster in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (X: 13.1, Y: 12.7)
- Serpent Quartermaster in New Gridania (X: 9.8, Y: 11.0)
- Flame Quartermaster in Ul’dah – Steps of Nald (X: 8.3, Y: 9.0)
Glamour Prisms and Glamour Dispellers
You need these items in order to add Glamour to your gear, or remove Glamour from a specific piece of glammed gear. Both items cost 200 Company Seals a pop. Both items can be found under the Sergeant section of the Quartermaster menu on the Materiel tab. Depending on your server’s Market Board prices, you can also turn around and sell these for a profit! Primarily, you’ll end up stocking up on these and using them to customize your character’s appearance.
Ventures
If you send your Retainers on Ventures, this is a great way to spend a few Company Seals. Each Venture costs 200 Company Seals and depending on the Venture you undertake, you’ll gain experience for your Retainer and be rewarded with other materials (and a ton of housing items to be honest.) You’ll find these under the Private section of the Quartermaster menu, on the Materiel tab.
Grade 8 Dark Matter
You might wonder what these items are for. If you’ve leveled up the correct Disciple of the Hand, you used Graded Dark Matter to repair your gear. The material has a number from 1 to 8 in its item name, i.e. Grade 2 Dark Matter or Grade 7 Dark Matter. Each grade number repairs gear within a certain level range. For example, Grade 1 Dark Matter is used to repair Level 1-10 gear, while Grade 8 Dark Matter is used to repair any Level 1-90 gear in the game.
As such, Grade 8 Dark Matter is the one you probably want to buy. It’s available for 600 Company Seals apiece from the Captain section of the Quartermaster menu on the Materiel tab.
Cordial
These are essentially Mana Potions for Disciples of the Land or Hand. They replenish your GP, which are essential for high-level crafting and gathering, and are normally made by a Level 50 Alchemist. You can purchase them for 500 Company Seals each. You’ll find these under the Sergeant section of the Quartermaster menu, on the Materiel tab. You can also sell these bad boys on the Market Board for Gil!
Manuals
If you’re looking to level up a Disciple of the Hand or Land, another good option is manuals. These items boost the experience gained for crafting and gathering Jobs for 18 hours. There’s one set that works until level 40, and another that works until level 50. For each set, the EXP boost is halved when used on Jobs above the stated level cap. These are good ways to speed up the leveling process.
Private Section, Material Tab
- Company-issue Engineering Manual (Crafter): 1,440 Seals
- Company-issue Survival Manual (Gatherer): 1,440 Seals
Sergeant Section, Material Tab
- Company-issue Engineering Manual II (Crafter): 2,300 Seals
- Company-issue Survival Manual II (Gatherer): 2,300 Seals
There are manuals above this level, but they cost Crafters’ Scrips, which is a currency for a whole different system.
Relic Weapon Materials
If you’re undertaking the Relic Weapon quests, some of the required items can be purchased with Company Seals. The Zodiac Braves Relic, for example, requires four (4) Bombard Cores, with each costing 20,000 Company Seals. You can also sell these items on the Market Board, as other players are also looking for them.
Material Containers (Loot Boxes!)
Material Containers are at the end of the line, when you have absolutely nothing else to spend Seals on. Both types of Containers cost 20,000 Company Seals each and contain mounts and minions at random. Materiel Container 3.0 has mounts and minions from A Realm Reborn and Heavensward, while Materiel Container 4.0 contains mounts and minions from Stormblood. Both Containers are available from the Captain section under the Materiel tab.
