First released for the Wii U in 2015, Tokyo Mirage Sessions is a crossover RPG that stars characters from Nintendo’s Fire Emblem series, and uses gameplay elements from Shin Megami Tensei. The story takes place in real-world Tokyo, and follows the adventures of Itsuki Aoi and his friends as they seek to defend the world from evil Mirages, unseen phantoms that feast on an energy called Performa.
The game recently got a re-release on the Nintendo Switch, which might have many players jumping in for the first time. For the uninitiated, Tokyo Mirage Sessions takes place in discrete chapters, with various story elements and characters getting introduced as the plot progresses. Throughout the game, you’ll have the chance to explore different towns and districts within Tokyo, and undertake optional side quests in between larger story beats.
In this guide, we’ll run down the Coloring Book Hero request.
Getting the Coloring Book Hero Request – Tokyo Mirage Sessions Guide
The Coloring Book Hero side quest first becomes available in Chapter 2, titled Head Over Heels for Her. To find the mission, you’ll have to head over to the Toubo Department Store Rooftop area. Once there, run to the right a bit and look for a little girl standing alone near the grassy area. Like most NPCs you can interact with, she’ll have an exclamation mark above her head.
Talking to her reveals that her name is “Reliable Girl,” and that she was told to watch over her brother while their mother shops. While waiting, Reliable Girl finished her coloring book, leaving her stricken with a sever case of boredom. She asks you to replace it, and gives you a hint about where to find one just like it.
Where to Find the Coloring Book – Tokyo Mirage Sessions Guide
Reliable Girl says that her mother gets the coloring book from a free magazine, but she’s unsure of where to find it. Too bad she didn’t have this guide to help her!
To find the coloring book, travel to Shibuya and head to the Hee Ho Mart. It’s the general store with the blue awning and the Jack Frost logo outside. It can be found along the north side of the main thoroughfare. The coloring book is located here, but not inside the store. Instead, examine the magazine rack along the wall outside the store. Note that you won’t get an exclamation mark prompt, so you’ll just have to manually search with the A button.
Once you examine the magazines, you’ll be able to choose from three options:
- “Food Informer”
- “Tokyo Classified”
- “Mama Toujours”
The one you want is “Mama Toujours.” Selecting it says it’s full of toy reviews, family recipes, articles on kids’ fashion, and activities. It also includes a section with coloring pages, which is exactly what Reliable Girl is after. Once you get your hands on the magazine, head back to the Toubo Department Store Rooftop and hand the book over.
Reliable Girl will be so thrilled to have a new coloring book to work on while she watches over her brother that she’ll give you a Colored Pencil as a reward. It’s a battle accessory that gives the wearer +10 Skill.
