Stray Curiosity Killed the Cat Guide - Where to Find the Paper Bag

Here's how to put the paper bag on your head in Stray.

The best game of 2022 is finally here. Developed by BlueTwelve Studio, Stray lets players control a wayward cat that gets separated from its clowder and must explore a mysterious, desolate city. Boasting a mix of platforming, puzzles, and chase sequences, Stray is more than just wandering around as an adorable feline.

There are several achievements/trophies you earn for those who are completionists. While some of these are simply tied to the story or basic actions like jumping, others are hidden and require some sleuthing. One of these is “Curiosity Killed the Cat,” which tasks you with wearing a paper bag.

Here’s a guide on how to find the paper bag so that you can strut in style and get your achievement.

Where to Find the Paper Bag

Stray Paper Bag

You can actually complete this achievement very early on in Chapter 4, The Slums. Once you load up the level, make your way through the alleys until you interact with the guard robot. Once the alarm is canceled and you’re allowed to freely explore, go down the alleyway on your left.

Against the wall will be a robot resting against a store with a guitar. Ignore him, approach the paper bag, and press the interact button. This will cause your cat to put the bag onto its head and complete the trophy/achievement.

Putting the bag onto your head also has the added benefit of screwing with your controls for a bit. Don’t worry — you just need to walk around with the paper bag for a little to make it fall off your stray cat. After that’s done, I recommend going back up to the guard robot. You can make progress towards three more achievements here.

The first involves rubbing against the robot with the spear, which can be done after speaking to it and showing it the postcard from the last chapter. After your dialogue exchange, move towards its right leg and press Y (Xbox) / Triangle (PlayStation) to nuzzle against this metal buddy. You will need to do this to four more robots to complete the Cat’s Best Friend achievement.

Another trophy you make progress towards is “Territory,” which requires you to scratch against something in every chapter. You can scratch up the carpet right behind the guard where all of the other robots are kneeling.

Finally, you can find a B-12 memory by the musician Morusque. In the alley to his left, you will see a bunch of dumpsters and air conditioners you can climb. Keep jumping up until you reach the painting of the smiling robot near the roof. You’ll be given a prompt to “Remember,” which will add this memory to your collection.
