Marvel’s Avengers Hulk Guide – How to Grab Enemies as Hulk

Marvel’s Avengers is the latest game from developer Crystal Dynamics and it allows players top step in the shoes of iconic characters like Iron Man, Captain America, and Ms. Marvel. Combining beat em’ up style gameplay with a loot system similar to Destiny 2 or The Division 2, Avengers is all about growing your own personal version of these superheroes and beating down waves of different types of villains. Every character as their own unique powers and skills that will help them gain an edge during fights. One of these is Hulk’s ability to physically grab enemies to bash other foes with them or simply remove them from combat.

Unfortunately, Marvel’s Avengers brushes over this, so here’s a quick refresher for all you Hulk mains out there!

How to Grab as Hulk

To grab as Hulk, you will need to be right up against an enemy before you initiate the attack. Once you’re within range, hold down X (Xbox One)/Square (PS4) to cause Hulk to grab them. This will let you pick that enemy up and then either slam them into the ground with Y or throw their flailing bodies at other foes. This may seem like a throwaway attack, but it’s actually pretty useful when you are either playing solo or trying to deal with a large number of foes. I like to use this move when battling against a group of enemies, as it allows you to displace or briefly stun enemies.

Keep in mind, you can also just throw enemies off a cliff which will instantly kill them. It’s not exactly heroic, but we won’t tell anyone if you don’t. Just remember, Hulk cannot grab every enemy in the game, as some will either be shielded, are capable of dodging it, or simply are out of Hulk’s reach. If you’re having trouble finding an opening to snatch up an AIM soldier, consider doing this move after you parry an attack. This will give you a brief window to quickly pick someone up before they can scramble away.

What is Marvel’s Avengers?

Marvel’s Avengers is a four-player co-op game that focuses on going through a series of missions to grow each character. Every hero has their own unique abilities, skill trees, and cosmetic items that you can equip. There is also a free battle pass for each of the Avengers, which is strictly tied to unlocking skins, calling cards, and other items that won’t directly impact the gameplay. Gear is on a power scale, meaning you will constantly find items that will increase your hero’s damage, health pool, and more. Similar to other looter shooters, there are different rarity tiers for items, which gives players something to hunt.

Keep in mind, at the time of writing this there is no PVP component of Avengers. We assume this is due to not only the PVE-focus of the game but the small hero pool available. Available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, Marvel’s Avengers is currently live for those who own the Deluxe Edition of the game. Everyone else will need to wait until September 4th when the normal version of Crystal Dynamic’s action game launches. If you’ve been looking for a good loot driven title before Destiny 2: Beyond Light launches in November, consider picking up Marvel’s Avengers.
