How to Get More Wishes in Genshin Impact

In Genshin Impact, your characters are everything. This is a gacha game, after all. But getting them requires resources and an inordinate amount of luck. Thankfully, there are a variety of ways to get more wishes to pull from your favorite banners. In this guide, we’ll explain the primary ways you can do so including a few you may not have discovered unless you’ve been poking around in the menus.

More Genshin Impact:

Getting Wishes Using Primogems

Obviously the main way to get more wishes is to spend your Primogems. Each summon will set you back 160 of the highly coveted material. You can earn these gems doing just about anything in the game from opening chests to earning achievements, completing dailies and claiming login rewards. This is the main way you want to get more summons. Focus on completing all of your daily tasks and you’ll be earning Primogems as quickly as possible without spending money.

Getting Wishes Using the Stardust Exchange

Every time you summon from a banner, you also get a small amount of Stardust. This currency can only be spent in the shop under Paimon’s Bargains. When you tab over to Stardust Exchange, you’ll see all of the available options. We highly recommend you always prioritize purchasing the Acquaint and Intertwined Fates from this screen. You can only purchase five of each per month, which is honestly just a fraction of the Stardust you should be earning.

Getting Wishes Using the Starglitter Exchange

Starglitter is a rarer resource which is also dropped from summons, but only from items that are four-star rarity or higher. You get bonus Starglitter when an item is a duplicate. You can take this material and trade it in for fates, but we do not recommend you do so. This tab of the store hasn’t refreshed yet, but it currently sells you Razor or Amber for 34 Starglitter. While no one should really be buying Amber again just to level up her constellation, it’s great if you don’t own Razor yet. And who knows? Maybe next month there will be a different guaranteed character to unlock!

Getting Wishes With Adventure Rank

Of course, there’s also good old fashioned progress. As you increase your Adventure Rank, the game will occasionally reward you with a fate here and there that you can use for wishes. They’re not incredibly common, however. The first 15 or so levels only have one or two to whet your appetite.

How to Buy Wishes

You can also spend real world money to get more wishes, but you can’t just buy Primogems. You instead need to purchase Genesis Crystals which can be exchanged 1:1 for Primogems. Must be a legal thing? Who knows. Anyway, you can buy these crystals for the following prices. We’ve also included a rough idea as to how many wishes you can do with them.

Keep in mind that only your first purchase is doubled. If you buy $100 of Genesis Crystals you’ll get $200 worth, but if you only purchase 60, you’ll only get 120. The following calculations do not include this bonus.

  • $1 for 60 Genesis Crystals (0.4 Summons)
  • $5 for 300 Genesis Crystals (1.9 Summons = $2.63 per Summon)
  • $15 for 980 Genesis Crystals (6.1 Summons = $2.46 per Summon)
  • $30 for 1,980 Genesis Crystals (12.4 Summons = $2.42 per Summon)
  • $50 for 3,280 Genesis Crystals (20.5 Summons = $2.43 per Summon)
  • $100 for 6,480 Genesis Crystals (40.5 Summons = $2.46 per Summon)

On a per summon basis, spending $30 will get you the most bang for your buck.

Just be careful, gacha games can be addicting to some and the odds to get a specific character you want is so incredibly low.
