The League of Legends Anima Squad event has arrived, introducing new missions, skins, and tons more. But before you jump into the fray, you may be wondering what the game means when it asks you to earn points from time spent playing and winning games. If you’re spending the next few weeks completing objectives for the event, this guide explains how it all works.
How to Earn Points From Time Spent Playing and Winning Games in League of Legends
If you’re jumping into League of Legends from March 31 to May 2, you’re bound to notice a new list of missions and objectives to complete in the game’s client. While the exact tasks can vary depending on the mission category, one objective is repeated multiple times.
In order to earn points in the League of Legends Anima Squad event, this is going to depend on how long you’re in a game, as well as actually winning the match as opposed to losing. Whereas you’d previously encounter objectives that stated more straightforward tasks such as “play X amount of games,” it now depends on your actual performance, which then leads to you gaining Objective Points.
If you’re curious about the exact amount of points you can get across all game modes, below is a helpful list:
- Summoner’s Rift (PVP): 4 points per minute played, and 6 points per minute played if you win.
- ARAM: 4 points per minute played, and 6 points per minute played if you win.
- Event Game Modes: 4 points per minute played, and 6 points per minute played if you win
- All TFT Modes: 2 points (5th-8th place), and 3 points (1st-4th place).
- Summoner’s Rift (co-op vs. AI): 1 point per minute played, and 2 points per minute played if you win.
As a quick example: For a 30-minute match of Summoner’s Rift (PVP) that ends in a loss, you will earn 120 Objective Points. But if you happen to win that game instead, you will earn 180 Objective points. This should give you a broad idea of what to expect. It’s going to be a time-consuming task for sure. But hey, the Anima Squad event has just kicked off, so there’s enough time ahead.

In summary, ARAM and Event Modes now grant as many Objective Points per minute played as PVP Summoner’s Rift games (including URF, Ultimate Spellbook, and One-for-All, the latter of which has returned and will be available through May 2). TFT matches give 50 percent as many Objective points as PVP games of League of Legends; TFT Hyper Roll and Double Up are eligible for mission progress; and co-op vs. AI games grant 33 percent as many Objective Points as PVP matches.
