Genshin Impact Fischl Guide: Best Build, Artifacts, & Team for Patch 1.6 (June 2021)

Fischl might not be the most powerful character in Genshin Impact, but she’s certainly one of the most useful. While other characters largely need to be on the field to make an impact, Fischl specializes in quick swapping. Make her your current character, activate some abilities, and move on to the next unit. Today we’re going to run down Fischl’s abilities and recommend what we think is the best build, best artifacts, best team composition, and more!

First of all, lets explain her abilities for folks who are unfamiliar. In short, she has the usual bow attacks and the ability to summon Oz, her raven. Oz will fire at nearby foes, inflicting them with electro damage and charging them for detonations. Her ultimate transforms Fischl into Oz and lets her briefly travel as him. In this form, lightning will strike nearby enemies and Oz will remain on the battlefield to inflict more damage. To optimize the time that Oz is up, you should wait until Nightrider has almost expired to use Midnight Phantasmagoria.

  • Bolts of Downfall (Normal Attack)
    • Normal Attack: Perform up to 5 consecutive shots with a bow.
    • Charged Attack: Perform a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG. While aiming, the dark lightning spirits of Immernachtreich shall heed the call of their Prinzessin and indwell the enchanted arrowhead. When fully indwelt, the Rachsüchitg Blitz shall deal immense Electro DMG.
    • Plunging Attack: Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AOE DMG upon impact.
  • Nightrider (Elemental Ability)
    • Summons Oz. The night raven forged of darkness and lightning descends upon the land, dealing Electro DMG in a small AOE. For the ability’s duration, Oz will continuously attack nearby enemies with Freikugel. Hold to adjust the location Oz will be summoned to. Press again any time during the ability’s duration to once again summon him to Fischl’s side.
  • Midnight Phantasmagoria (Elemental Burst)
    • Summons Oz to spread his twin wings of twilight and defend Fischl. Has the following properties during the ability’s duration:
      • Fischl takes on Oz’s form, greatly increasing her Movement Speed.
      • Strikes nearby enemies with lightning, dealing Electro DMG to enemies she comes in contact with. Each enemy can only be struck once.
      • Once this ability’s effects end, Oz will remain on the battlefield and attack his Prinzessin’s foes. If Oz is already on the field, then this will reset the duration of his presence.
  • Stellar Predator (Passive 1) – Ascension 1
    • When Fischl hits Oz with a fully-charged Aimed Shot, Oz brings down Thundering Retribution, dealing AoE Electro DMG equal to 152.7% of the arrow’s DMG.
  • Lightning Smite (Passive 2) – Ascension 4
    • If your active character triggers an Electro-related Elemental Reaction when Oz is on the field, the enemy shall be stricken with Thundering Retribution, dealing Electro DMG equal to 80% of Fischl’s ATK.
  • Mein Hausgarten (Passive 3) – Unlocked
    • When dispatched on an expedition in Mondstadt, the time consumed is reduced by 25%.


We recommend you build Fischl as a sub-DPS who only comes onto the field to cast a few spells before going through the rest of your team rotation.

Weapon Options

Skyward Harp is easily the best weapon for Fischl, but not everyone has it. The Stringless is probably the best 4-Star weapon that is easily obtained. Alley Hunter is good, but a bit harder to make work, and it’s only available in limited banners.

Skyward Harp (5-Star) – Increases critical damage by 20 percent. Hits have a 60 percent chance to inflict a small AoE attack, dealing 125 percent physical attack damage. Can only occur once every four seconds.

The Stringless (4-Star) – Increases Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG by 24 percent.

Alley Hunter (4-Star) – Every four seconds a character is on the field, their attack increases by four percent and their critical damage increases by four percent. This effect has a maximum of five stacks and will not be reset if the character leaves the field, but will be cleared when the character takes damage.


Since Fischl is a sub-DPS we want artifacts that will function when she’s off the field. For that reason, we only recommend running the two piece Thundering Fury alongside the two piece Gladiator’s Finale. The buff to the elemental reactions only happens if Fischl is on the field. The four piece Thundersoother is good too if you’re running an Electro heavy team comp.

The optimal main stat for your artifacts are: Crit Rate, ATK, ATK %, Electro Damage Bonus, Crit Rate. For substats, prioritize Critical Damage and Critical Rate.

Thundering Fury (4/5-Star) – (2) +15 percent Electro damage bonus. (4) Increases damage caused by Overloaded, Electro-Charged, and Superconduct by 40 percent. Triggering such effects decreases Elemental Skill cooldown by one second. Can only occur once every 0.8 seconds.

Gladiator’s Finale (4/5-Star) – (2) +18 percent Attack. (4) If the wielder of this artifact set uses a Sword, Claymore or Polearm, increases their Normal Attack damage by 35 percent.

Thundersoother (4/5-Star) – (2) Electro resistance increased by 40 percent. (4) Increases damage against enemies affected by Electro by 35 percent.


Fischl is one of the best sub-DPS characters out there. Here are some recommended team compositions:

    • Main DPS: Razor

  • Common Ascension Material: Firm/Sharp/Historic Arrowhead


We’re putting the constellation information here at the bottom because it’s incredibly hard to get. You unlock one additional level for each subsequent time you summon Fischl. Somehow I’ve managed to get her to level two already and still don’t have Venti. Listen, I don’t want to talk about it.

  • Level 1 – Gaze of the Deep: Even when Oz is not present in combat, he can still watch over Fischl through the crow’s eyes. When Fischl attacks an enemy, Oz fires a joint attack through the crow’s eyes, dealing 22% of ATK DMG.
  • Level 2 – Devourer of All-Sins: When Nightrider is used, it deals an additional 200% ATK as DMG, and its AoE is increased by 50%.
  • Level 3 – Wings of Nightmare: Increases Nightrider’s skill level by 3. Max level is 15.
  • Level 4 – Her Pilgrimage of Bleak: When Midnight Phantasmagoria is used, deals 222% of ATK as Electro DMG to surrounding enemies. When the skill duration ends, Fischl recovers 20% of her HP.
  • Level 5 – Against the Fleeing Light: Increases Midnight Phantasmagoria’s skill level by 3. Max level is 15.
  • Level 6 – Evernight Raven: Increases the duration of Oz’s summoning by 2s. Additionally, Oz attacks with your active character when present, dealing 30% of Fischl’s ATK as Electro DMG.

Here’s what you’ll need to maximize Fischl’s level cap.

  • 1st Ascension (Max Level 20) – 1 Vajrada Amethyst Sliver, 3 Small Lamp Grass, 3 Firm Arrowheads
  • 2nd Ascension (Max Level 40) – 3 Vajrada Amethyst Fragments, 2 Lightning Prisms, 10 Small Lamp Grass, 15 Firm Arrowheads
  • 3rd Ascension (Max Level 50) – 6 Vajrada Amethyst Fragments, 4 Lightning Prisms, 20 Small Lamp Grass, 12 Sharp Arrowheads
  • 4th Ascension (Max Level 60) – 3 Vajrada Amethyst Chunks, 8 Lightning Prisms, 30 Small Lamp Grass, 18 Sharp Arrowheads
  • 5th Ascension (Max Level 70) – 6 Vajrada Amethyst Chunks, 12 Lightning Prisms, 45 Small Lamp Grass, 12 Historic Arrowheads
  • 6th Ascension (Max Level 80) – 6 Vajrada Amethyst Gemstone, 20 Lightning Prisms, 60 Small Lamp Grass, 24 Historic Arrowheads
