Apex Legends Vantage Guide – How to Unlock & Her Abilities

Here's everything you need to know about Apex Legends' new character, Vantage.

Apex Legends’ newest character Vantage is almost here, which means it’s time to go over her abilities and how to unlock this sniper. Tied to Season 14, Vantage is all about information gathering, target prioritization, and getting a better, well, vantage point. While she isn’t the flashiest addition to the game, Vantage can be especially deadly with a coordinated team and someone who is accurate with long-range weapons such as the Sentinel. So if you’re looking to try this new legend out, here’s how to unlock Vantage and what her abilities are:

How to Unlock Vantage

The only way to unlock Vantage is by spending either 12,000 Legend Tokens or 750 Apex Coins. You can earn the Legend Tokens by leveling up your core account (not your Battle Pass), while the Apex Coins must be purchased with real-world money or by completing steps in the Battle Pass. You will need to spend at least $10 to purchase him since you cannot just buy the exact amount needed to unlock Vantage.

There is no other way to gain access to her, so if you don’t want to shell out some cash, then get ready to grind for some levels. How long this takes will vary based on your level, as those just starting will have a much easier time accruing Legend Tokens than those at or above Level 100. Remember, this season introduced the ability to reset your rank from 500 to 1 which means you will be able to gather even more Legen Tokens. You can do this up to three times, bringing the max level count from 500 to 2,000. This will make grinding for Legend Tokens significantly easier on veteran players, allowing you to quickly obtain the 12,000 needed to unlock Vantage.

Vantage Abilities

Vantage’s passive is called Spotters Lens and it triggers whenever she aims down her sights with either a high-powered scope or unarmed. Doing so will highlight any enemy in her crosshairs, showing the enemy team’s EVO Shields, legend name, and their range. This passive also allows her to see where her see the bullet drop of her rifles, giving Vantage players the ability to always be precise with her shots.

As for her Tactical, it’s called Echo Relocation and it’s her only movement ability. Upon activation, Vantage sends out her adorable bat Echo to a position and then can press the Tactical button again to launch herself towards him. Echo cannot be killed or disrupted, however, Vantage can be shot out of the air when repositioning herself. You also don’t need to go to Echo, as Vantage will only launch to him if you press the Tactical button a second time.

Finally, her Ultimate is Sniper’s Mark. Vantage pulls out a custom, high-caliber sniper rifle that will deal 50 damage to any target she hits. Once an enemy has been struck by this rifle, any subsequent rounds deal 100 damage instead of 50. Additionally, your squad will deal additional damage to the marked target. Marked targets cannot be seen through walls, so don’t worry about this being another wallhack. You will only know a target is marked because there will be an orange circle on them when they appear in your line of sight.

Vantage is set to release on August 11 when Season 14 of Apex Legends goes live on all available platforms.
