Apex Legends Valentine’s Day Event Guide – Times, Rewards, Tips

The Apex Legends Valentine’s Day event should come as no surprise. The game hasn’t even been out for two weeks, but it makes sense that Respawn would want to get in on the love with new skins and cosmetics.

But, like a lot of stuff in Apex Legends, it’s not quite as straightforward as it could be. Our guide will help you get the sweet limited-time cosmetics and badge for the Apex Legends event. Read on to learn more!

Apex Legends Valentine’s Day Event Start & End Times

It’s not too surprising, but the Apex Legends Valentine’s Day event takes place on and around the February holiday. The event began Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. PST and will continue until Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. PST. This gives you roughly a week to try and grab the special event items!

Thankfully, this first event doesn’t have too much going on, seeing as the game just came out. There’s basically no grinding involved. If you want everything for the event, though… you need to cough up some dough.

Valentine’s Day Event Rewards & Other Cosmetics

There are three items you can get during the Apex Legends Valentine’s Day event. There is a gun skin and special card graphic you can buy with premium currency, as well as a unique badge to earn only during this week-long event.

First, the premium items. The Valentine’s Day event brings two new cosmetics to buy — and they are not cheap. Each costs 1100 Apex Coins (or about $11 USD unless you get a deal). If you want both of these items you’ll have to shell out some money. Pro tip: You can grab the Starter’s Pack for $4.99. That will net you get 600 Apex Coins and a few goodies. Hey, it’s a start!

If you want the premium cosmetics, you’ll probably want to know what they are! First is a special weapon skin for the Longbow. The Epic skin, titled “Through the Heart,” features a cute little cupid Pathfinder and a bunch of hearts. They couldn’t have picked a more fitting weapon, either!

The other cosmetic is an animated banner frame, exclusively for Pathfinder. It features the same little cupid robot flitting around the corner of the card, along with a red color scheme and animated hearts. Very fitting!

If you’re not willing to shell out cash, no need to worry. For free, you can earn a new limited-time badge for your banner card. Titled “Live Die Live,” you earn the badge if you manage to revive or respawn a squadmate before the end of the event.

If you’re new to Apex Legends, you may not know how to go about doing that. We have you covered!

Death is Not the End: How to Revive or Respawn your Squadmates

In most battle royale games, once you’re gunned down, that’s it. It’s time to find a new island to drop onto. This isn’t the case in Apex Legends. As long as a squadmate still lives, they can either revive you (if you’re still bleeding out) or have you respawn when they pick up your banner and take it to a respawn location.

Generally, you want to revive your squadmates. It’s easier and the fallen friend keeps their equipment. However, reviving takes time to do, and can leave you vulnerable to enemy fire. Typically, you don’t want to do it if you’re surrounded by enemies. However, the hero Lifeline has a passive skill that lets her revive friendlies faster and erects a shield wall in the process. Lifeline is easily the best character to choose if you want the Valentine’s Day exclusive.

If you can’t revive your squadmate before they either bleed out or are killed, don’t worry. There’s still hope! Surviving teammates can pick up the fallen member’s banner (by using the action button on their death box). Then it’s just a matter of taking the banner to a Respawn Beacon. These are strewn throughout the map, but from my experience are not usually guarded by other squads.

Beacons are easy to find, too. They appear as green circles on your mini-map. “Dead” allies can also press a button to ping whichever Beacon is nearest their living teammates. The locations are one-time-use, however, so if another team gets there first you’re out of luck. You’ll have to find a new one.

After a little time, the fallen squadmate(s) will jump back into the field, ready to fight again! But, well… without all their equipment. There are nearly always supply crates in the immediate area around Respawn Beacons, but you have to hope no one else looted them first. Still, a second shot at life — as well as an exclusive item for whoever performed the respawn — isn’t half bad!

And this concludes our guide to the Apex Legends Valentine’s Day event. There’s not a lot to it, and the best stuff isn’t cheap, but hopefully we’ve nudged you toward the best ways to get what you need. Happy hunting!
