Patch 6.5 is the last major update Final Fantasy XIV is receiving before Dawntrail is released, and more news regarding gearsets during the Producer Live Letter 79 was announced.Â
Related to all the main activities in the game, there will be a lot of options for players when it comes to dressing up for the next expansion. From modern outfits that are perfect for screenshot sessions to a very striking green suit, the patch 6.5 has something for everyone.Â
FFXIV Patch 6.5 Alliance Raid Gear

Since this update won’t add new tomestone gear, players can look for an upgrade for their current sets in the new Alliance Raid Tier, Thaleia. During the live stream, developers showed four sets: Tank, ranged, caster, and scouting. The tank and ranged sets share a white and blue color set, keeping the deity-like style found in the sets from the previous tiers of the raid. On the other hand, the caster and scouting sets have a black and blue tone. Unsurprisingly, the caster set resembles a dress with silver details, while the scouting set has a lot of details that give it an aggressive vibe.Â
FFXIV Patch 6.5 Crystalline Conflict Gear

This time, there are a total of four new sets of gear that players can acquire by playing Crystalline Conflict. They showed a quite stylish full-plate armor, which is reminiscent other gearsets for tank jobs that players can probably earn as they complete the Series Malmstones. On the other hand, they have confirmed that the other three sets are tradeable for Trophy Crystals. These are more modern-urban-like outfits that will make characters look amazing as they fight in the arenas.

Two sets have been shared that might be related to Island Sanctuary. The first one is a cute cat-like hood with gloves with paws drawn on it. The other set is a casual one that portrays Eastern design elements. It’s unclear whether players can acquire these sets by ranking up their islands or buying them with Island Sanctuary’s special currencies.Â
FFXIV Patch 6.5 Glam Gear

Announced during the PLL, a Kappa suit is going to be added to the game. This is a full-body suit based on the famous green, frog-like figure from Japanese folklore. They haven’t shared further information regarding how players can get this surprising and funny glam. They only confirmed they are adding the Kappa suit closer to 7.0.
