FromSoftware has produced some of the most difficult games of recent memory and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is no exception. The discourse surrounding accessibility and difficulty is a vital one. The right answer here, of course, is accessibility is good.

Period.

That said, video producer Frank has put together this fascinating look at what difficulty does for players who enjoy it. The video goes into From’s specific views on difficulty. I’d argue the games don’t leave everyone on a level playing ground despite the assertions of Sekiro‘s developers, but that’s obviously the basis of the debates happening right now.
