Best of Fanbyte April 2019
Egg Week, Mortal Kombat, Game of Thrones, and more!

Today marks the end of April and, conveniently (unbelievably), Fanbyte’s six-month anniversary of existence. That, frankly, is incredible. We’re done a lot in our short time here and more and more it’s getting harder to choose a small percentage of our pieces to feature here.
But alas, I have a monthly job to do and I’m going to do it.
Egg Week 2019
We introduced you to Kiss Week back in February. Naturally, we had to celebrate Egg Week. You know, Egg Week! We’ve linked you to the full week of pieces, but here are some highlights!
- Chansey: A Review
- Cracking the Egg, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Solas Romance
- Creatures 2 Showed Us a Different Kind of Artificial Intelligence
- The Most Rotten Eggs in Games

- One Dozen Magic: The Gathering Eggs, Review
Don’t cry because Egg Week is over, smile because it happened.
Mortal Kombat 11
Games are in a weird place right now. There are lots of games as a service but not many major releases crowding the month. That said, Mortal Kombat 11 came out and got us way more excited than we had been for the series in a really long time. So hey, here’s a bunch of MK11 content for ya.
- Mortal Kombat 11 Review
- All Mortal Kombat 11 Fatalities – Video & Inputs
- Mortal Kombat 11 Character Guides
- Lore-Tal Kombat: All the Story to Catch You Up for Mortal Kombat 11

Big April Entertainment
Okay maybe it’s reductive to lump Wrestlemania, Game of Thrones, and Avengers: Endgame together, but if you’re honest with yourself, they’re all basically the same thing. They all had their moments in April, starting with WWE’s annual spectacle of excess which saw some major championships change hands. Game of Thrones returned in April and with it came Gretchen Felker-Martin’s incredible recaps of each episode. Finally, Avengers: Endgame wrapped up 11 (!!!!) years of Marvel madness and hinted to the future of the franchise.
- NXT Takeover New York
- Wrestlemania 35
- Game of Thrones “Winterfell”
- Game of Thrones “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”
- Game of Thrones “The Long Night”
- MCU Timeline & Video Analysis
- Avengers: Endgame Review
Features
Another month, another embarrassment of riches in feature form on Fanbyte. I can’t pick a favorite, but our interview with “The Man” Becky Lynch on the eve of her double championship win at Wrestlemania was pretty great. Oh also our Pokemon model viewer. Oh yeah also our piece about Disney’s effect on satire once they own everything else. Oh gosh and what about the dude who can’t stop building deathtraps in Fallout 76?
