7 Quality of Life Changes I’d Like to See in Destiny 2

From emote wheels to autosharding, here are my picks

Yesterday I wrote about my wild speculation on the next season of Destiny 2. Today, I want to get a little more down-to-earth. Here are seven minor little quality of life changes I’d like to see in Destiny 2 at some point — if not next season, then maybe next expansion.

1. Destiny 2 Quality of Life Changes — Better Shader Organization

There are a lot of shaders in Destiny 2! I can’t always remember what season Gambit Emerald comes from, you know? Just give us a search function in the game. Options to sort by color family, recency of acquisition, and so on would be great, too.

2. Emote Wheel

Again, there are a ton of emotes in Destiny 2 at this point, but I forget about 90% of them most of the time because you can only have four equipped. An option to hold a key to bring up a selection wheel then choose one of say, 8-10 from there would be nice.

3. Autosharding

Ok, so blues don’t drop from playlist activities after you hit the power cap anymore, but they still show up elsewhere. Basically, once you hit the power cap, there’s no reason for blue (rare) gear to keep dropping for you. It isn’t increasing your power and all blue weapons have fixed rolls, so if for whatever reason you actually needed one you could just pull it out of collections.

4. Destiny 2 Quality of Life Changes — Vault Access Anywhere

Sure, most people will continue to just use DIM or the mobile app, but wouldn’t it be nice to have the option?

5. Solo Queuing

Just let us turn matchmaking on or off. Most of the time it doesn’t matter, but for certain bounties, quests, and so on, being able to run strikes and other activities solo would be useful.

6. Make Ship Effects Work Like Shaders

I just don’t really mess around with ship effects anymore because I can’t be bothered to pull them out of collections. Make them work like Ghost projections or shaders and have them freely selectable under each ship. Easy! Well, probably not easy, knowing Destiny 2‘s code, but, conceptually, easy.

7. Destiny 2 Quality of Life Changes — Get Rid of Power Level

Ok, this one isn’t so minor. But it really wouldn’t affect that much of the game. Here are my full thoughts on the Power mechanic and why I think Destiny 2 should leave it in the past.

What do you think? Are there any quality of life changes you’d like to see in Destiny 2 that I missed? Let me know in the comments.
