TNT’s Countdown to AEW this evening ended with the revelation that Chris Jericho’s partners in tomorrow’s main event will in fact be Santana and Ortiz. The team formerly known as LAX were previously shown congratulating and thanking the inaugural champ backstage at All Out, but tonight they made it official.
Santana and Ortiz are one of the most well-rounded teams in pro wrestling today, with both charisma and in-ring ability to spare. Plus their surprise attack on the Lucha Bros after All Out proved they are out for blood! It was the most logical choice to make.
No other big news came out of TNT’s hourlong recap of AEW’s story so far. Except they showed Nyla Rose wearing not one, but two chokers. A power move like that has got to mean she’s winning, right?
